At the Kindergarten Center, we strive for each child to have a successful introduction into the academic world. To insure this success, we offer the Mentor Program. This program is open to all Kindergarten students. The program matches volunteers from the community with students. The mentor has two students (1/2 hour each) once a week. The mentor acts as a model, tutor, friend, coach and guide. The mentor takes personal interest in the growth and development of the child. Mentors are very helpful working with students who are having trouble adjusting to the school environment, lost a loved one to death or divorce, are experiencing the stress of sickness or other problems in the home, are extremely shy, or are experiencing academic difficulties.
